Draft 2009 Transportation
Improvement Plan

The Metropolitan Transportation Improvement
Program (MTIP) is a listing of all federally funded
transportation projects within the Bannock
Transportation Planning Organization (BTPO)
planning area. The MTIP provides a prioritized
four year listing of projects planned for the BTPO
area. In addition, the MTIP includes two additional
years for planning purposes. The 2012 year is a
planning year for projects which have been
developed to the point they are ready to move into
the MTIP in the following year. The other planning
year, Preliminary Development (PD), is for projects
as they start the project development process.
Projects in this category can remain in PD for several
years depending upon the complexity of the project.
PD allows for early identification, design, and public
notification of highway projects. The MTIP includes
all modes of surface transportation.

See "What's New" link at the top for more detail.
