Public Notice
Notice is hereby given of a proposed Prior Year Project Change of the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). BTPO invites the public to review and comment on the following changes:
- Project Name – Prior Year Project Change – Section 5307 Funds (KN13802 & KN19755)
Funding Source – FTA Section 5307 Small Urban
Project Description – Pocatello Regional Transit (PRT) is proposing a change in use for its FTA Section 5307 funds, proposing to change $189,590 in funds originally intended to be used for operations to a use for capital; capital funds are proposed to be used for purchase of bus support/equipment/facilities needs including but not limited to office equipment (computers, copier, etc.), facility surveillance system. The funding was part of the FY2023 Transportation Improvement Program – KN13802 (Pocatello UZA Demand Response Operation) and KN19755 (Pocatello UZA Capital) and are part of an active FTA Grant.
About Section 5307 Funds – The Urbanized Area Formula Funding program (49 U.S.C. 5307) provides federal funding to states and local recipients for transit capital and operating assistance and transportation-related planning in urbanized areas. For urbanized areas of 50,000 to 199,999 in population, the formula is based on population, low-income population, and population density.

This public involvement notice satisfies the Federal Transit Administration’s Section 5307(c) Program of Projects requirements. If no changes are made to the proposed programs, the list will be approved without further public notice.
