Yellowstone Avenue is the highest-volume arterial corridor within the Pocatello/Chubbuck urban area serving a majority of the region’s commercial activity. The purpose of the Yellowstone Corridor Plan is to evaluate existing and future transportation issues and identify ways to address deficiencies within the transportation system. The 2017 Yellowstone Avenue Corridor Plan is an update to the 2003 Yellowstone Corridor Plan. Federal regulations have changed, shifting to an active management approach requiring the development of performance measures in coordination with planning and construction. The Bannock Transportation Planning Organization (BTPO) and the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) recognize the urgency to address issues along the Yellowstone Corridor and the need for an updated Plan to guide the process.
